Around 1947 Britain’s coal industry was nationalised. Britain is the world’s eighth largest industrial nation. North East is the top sector, it worth over £70 billion with 115,000 employed. The current challenges for UK manufacturing are skills shortage and labour shortage.

According to the WEF (World Economic Forum), by 2025 the fourth industrial revolution is expected to create a value of £2.7 trillion worldwide.
